Te Whare Tapa Wha

We were learning about our four walls, and how to keep them up. The four different walls are physical, spiritual, mental and emotional, and family and social. In those four boxes we had to add in what that subject means to us.

We were using our learning asset Whaiwhakaaroa being a thinker by using images to reflect on what each pou meant to us, and how it makes us strong.  Also how it makes me the best me I   can be.

I found it hard to find certain images that I needed for my walls, because when I searched something up it wouldn't come up with the exact picture that I needed. But then I thought that I should use the key words instead of one big sentence.

Using onomatopoeia

We were learning to use onomatopoeia, and we had to write a poem about fireworks using onomatopoeia, so then we can have more description in our writing. Onomatopoeia is when you are describing the sound of something, for example POP, BANG.

I found it easy to describe the sounds of fireworks because I have experienced with fireworks before , and it was easy for me to describe the sounds.

I found it hard to think of my ideas quick, because I was focusing more on trying to add onomatopoeia then getting my poem finished.

Next time I could use different onomatopoeia to make it more exciting, and so the sound paints a picture in the reader's head. Next time I could also think of my ideas more quicker, so that I can show Kaiwhakarite.

I was a thinker, because I used onomatopoeia in my writing, and I used it to describe the sounds of the fire works to add more description in my writing. Also to make my piece of writing level three.

Ancient Creature!

I am focusing on being a communicator and being able to share my ideas through writing. I am doing this by  using  different varieties of sentence starters, but next time I will level up my sentence starters. I also used conjunctions to link my ideas together. In my writing I used similes to make my piece of writing level four, and to paint a picture in my readers head. I also used alliteration and great adjectives in my writing to make my piece of writing level four, although next time I think I could focus more, and change up my sentence starters to make them level four.
